The minimum and recommended system requirements for the threequel, revealing that the NVIDIA 8800GT is the recommend graphics card, though we reckon you’ll need a bit more GPU grunt to play with all settings enabled. What do we mean? Well ACB, as we’ll call it, features a host of graphical niceties exclusive to the PC, the most demanding of which is Ambient Occlusion. Enabling far more precise lighting, which requires extra processing power, Ambient Occlusion is accompanied by additional Soft Shadowing, improved reflections, improved character and environmental detail, and increased draw distances. And though ACB is a DirectX 9 game, turning all these options on in addition to anti-aliasing will likely tax NVIDIA’s venerable 8800GT beyond its capabilities, so we guestimate that players will likely need a 400-series NVIDIA GPU to enable everything at a high resolution.
Support for multiple monitors and the NVIDIA 3D Vision standard have also been confirmed by Ubisoft, and while we don’t know their method for rendering 3D (some are less taxing than others), it’s a sure bet that players will require a card more powerful than the 8800GT to do justice to such a visually arresting game in either configuration.
Away from talk of system specifications Ubisoft disclosed that customers pre-ordering through digital distributors will receive the Digital Deluxe version of the game for no extra charge. Included are two bonus single-player levels, two extra multiplayer characters, an extra Ezio single-player skin, an Altaïr Codex page, digital trading cards revealing multiplayer moves, a map of ACB’s Rome to print, a live-action movie focussing on Ezio’s father, a behind the scenes video, and a twenty-two track digital OST.
